Assault with a Weapon Arrest
A 19-year-old Peterborough woman is facing various charges after an incident on Saturday evening.
At approximately 9:30pm on April 25, 2026, officers were made aware of a 2-vehicle collision on Raymond Street. Officers established that one of the vehicles was struck on purpose by the second vehicle. The second vehicle fled the area following the collision. The occupants of both vehicles were known to each other.
Through the investigation, officers were able to locate the driver of the second vehicle at approximately 4:30am on Sunday morning near Parkhill Road and George Street.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Peterborough woman was charged with:
- Assault with A Weapon
- Mischief - destroys or damages property
- Dangerous operation
- Fail to remain
- Failure to Comply with Release Order - Other than to attend court
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Impaired Arrest
A 36-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop Sunday night.
At approximately 9:00pm on Sunday, April 26, 2026, an officer with the Traffic Unit spotted a vehicle speeding on Lansdowne Street West. The officer conducted a traffic stop and when speaking to the driver noticed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit
- Fail to notify change of address – licence
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused was handed a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on June 9, 2026.
