Possession of Weapons Arrest

Three Peterborough teens are facing charges after an incident Saturday night.

At approximately 9:45pm on August 9, 2025, officers were on general patrol in the George Street and Dalhousie Street area when a large group of youths started running toward them yelling that someone had a gun. The officers ran toward the area and were directed toward a group of youths running away from the scene.  Officers gave chase.  One male was located in a parking lot in the Sherbrooke Street and Aylmer Street area and taken into custody.  Three others were located behind a building on Dalhousie Street.  Due to information of a firearm a high-risk arrest was conducted, and they were taken into custody.  One was released unconditionally. 

Officers seized:

  • A pellet gun
  • A knife
  • A pair of brass knuckles

As a result of the investigation:

An 18-year-old Bancroft man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Carrying concealed weapon

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 23, 2025.

A 15-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 22, 2025

A 12-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 22, 2025.

 

Drug and Weapons Arrest

Two women are facing drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop Sunday morning. 

At approximately 11:00am on August 10, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST Unit conducted a traffic stop in the Park Street North and Dalhousie Street area.  Two passengers were taken into custody.  During a search after arrest, officers seized:

  • 27.4 grams Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 190 Methylpenidate pills
  • 66 Dilaudid pills
  • 26.5 Unknown pills
  • 15 Oxycodone
  • Brass Knuckles
  • Canadian currency
  • Drug paraphernalia

As a result of the investigation:

A 38-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs (Oxycodone)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs (Hydromorphone)
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking – (Methylphenidate)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 11, 2025.

A 41-year-old Ennismore woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs (Oxycodone)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs (Hydromorphone)
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking – (Methylphenidate)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 11, 2025. 

 

Robbery Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Friday afternoon.

At approximately 5:00pm on August 8, 2025, officers were called to a business in the George Street North and Dalhousie Street area.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a woman had left the store without paying for a basket of items.  When the loss prevention officers (LPOs) attempted to stop her, an altercation ensued, and they were kicked and yelled at before the woman fled the area on foot.  Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

At approximately 7:30pm on Saturday, August 8, 2025, officers were called to an incident in the Rink Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, located a woman matching the description from the robbery the previous day.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court August 10, 2025.
