Stunt Driving Charge

A 24-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges, including a stunt driving charge after a traffic stop in Peterborough on Saturday morning.

At approximately 7:30am on August 23, 2025, an officer with the Traffic Unit was on general patrol in the Clonsilla Ave and Spillsbury Drive area. A vehicle was spotted travelling at a high rate of speed and was recorded going 101km/hr in a posted 50km/hr zone.

As a result, the driver was charged with:

  • Stunt in excess of 40km/hr
  • Speeding 101km/hr in a 50km/hr
  • Fail to wear a seatbelt
  • Obstruct licence plate
  • Windshield obstructed


The driver was issued a 30-day licence suspension and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.

 

Impaired Arrest


A 59-year-old Peterborough man was arrested for impaired driving after driving through traffic cones near ongoing roadwork. 

An officer working in the High Street and Lansdown Street area was directing and monitoring traffic while roadwork was being completed. The officer noticed a truck with a lone male occupant drive though the cones, and towards the officer. When speaking with the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old Peterborough man was arrest and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and 7 day vehicle impoundment.

 

Impaired Arrest

 
A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges after leaving the scene of an accident on Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 4:15pm on Friday, August 23, 2025 an officer on general patrol observed a motor vehicle collision in the area of Park Street North and Albert Street in Peterborough. Through the investigation, it was determined that a driver involved in the collision had failed to remain on scene. The driver re-attended the scene shortly after, and the officer noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 40 year-old Peterborough man was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Failure to stop after an accident
  • Careless driving

The driver was issued a 90-day licence suspension and the vehicle impounded for 7 days.

 

Impaired Arrest

After failing to stop at a stop sign, a 25-year-old driver is facing impaired charges.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025 at approximately 4:30pm, an officer with the Traffic Unit was conducting stop sign enforcement in the area of York Drive and O’Neil Street. The officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for the stop sign and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, the 25-year-old Peterborough man was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Disobey stop sign
  • Drive motor vehicle not in accordance with emissions regulations

 

The driver was issued a 90-day licence suspension and the vehicle impounded for 7 days.
