Intimate Partner Violence Arrest
A 32-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.
At approximately 10:30pm on February 22, 2026, several 9-1-1 calls were received about a disturbance in the Stewart Street and Wolfe Street area in which a man had been threatening to kill a woman, throwing rocks at a window, kicking at a door, and trying to enter the home with a sword. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police and ordered him to the ground. He was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Utter threats
- Mischief under $5000
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 23,2026.
Assault Arrest
A 33-year-old Peterborough woman wanted on warrants is facing another charge after an incident Friday afternoon.
At approximately 2:50pm on February 20, 2026, officers were called to an apartment in the Dublin Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a tenant had punched another tenant in the head and scratched their arm. It was further learned that the woman was wanted on warrants for assault with a weapon and fail to attend court after appearing.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:
- Assault
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
