Impaired Arrests

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service arrested three drivers for impaired related offences in three different incidents early Saturday morning.

A 56-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after a traffic stop.  On Saturday, February 1, 2025, a vehicle was spotted being driven erratically and was stopped in the Lundy’s Lane and Monaghan Road area.  The officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver. 

As a result, a 56-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court March 11, 2025.

 

A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after a single vehicle collision early Saturday morning.

At approximately 3:00am on Saturday, February 1, 2025, a 9-1-1 call came in about a collision in the Highway 7 and Parkhill Road area. Upon arrival, officers located the driver outside the vehicle and during conversation noticed signs of impairment.

As a result, a 28-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is schedule to appear in court March 4, 2025.

 

A 21-year-old Omemee man is facing impaired charges after an incident Saturday morning.

At approximately 6:20am on Saturday, February 1, 2025, officers were called about a vehicle in a snowbank in the Valleyview Drive and Parkhill Road West area. It was reported that the vehicle was running and a male in the driver’s seat either asleep or unconscious. Upon arrival, the driver was awake and officers were able to talk him and noticed signs of impairment.

As a result, a 21-year-old Omemee man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court March 11, 2025.

 

Assault Arrest

A 24-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident at a Peterborough business.

At approximately 8:00pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025, officers were called to a business in the King Street and Bethune Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned a customer had punched an employee in the face and fled the store.  Officers were able to locate a man matching the suspect’s description a short distance away and took him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court March 11, 2025.
