Impaired Arrest
A 51-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after a vehicle was spotted stuck in a snowbank Saturday night.
At approximately 10:40pm on January 17, 2026, a call came in about a vehicle stuck in an snowbank at Parkhill Road West and Aylmer Street. Officers on general patrol also spotted the vehicle and stopped to assist the driver who was trying to shovel out. During discussions with the driver, the officers noticed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accuse was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court February 24, 2026.
