Child Pornography Arrest 

An ongoing investigation into a voyeurism incident in May 2025 has resulted in additional charges against a 20-year-old Peterborough man.

Officers with the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Peterborough Police Service conducted a search warrant at a Peterborough residence Friday morning (July 11, 2025). 

As a result, a 20-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court July 11, 2025. 

At this time, it is not believed that there are any additional victims and no ongoing public safety concern. 

The Peterborough Police is a member of the Provincial Strategy to protect children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

 

Weapons and Warrant Arrest

Three people are facing a number of charges after a traffic stop Friday evening.

At approximately 8:30pm on July 11, 2025, an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monaghan Road and Albert Street.  Upon speaking with the people in the vehicle, the officer learned that the driver was suspended and there was a warrant in another jurisdiction for the female passenger.  As a result, they were taken into custody and the vehicle searched.  After the search a second male passenger was also taken into custody.

In total from the vehicle, officers seized:

  • 3.3 grams of Fentanyl
  • 2.1 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • 1.7 grams of Cocaine
  • 6 Hyrdomorphone pills
  • Expandable baton
  • Knives X3
  • Brass knuckles
  • Bear spray
  • Drug paraphernalia

A 30-year-old Lakefield woman was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon x2
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Crack Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Fentanyl
  • Breach of Recognizance

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on July 12, 2025.

A 47-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court August 19, 2025.

A 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Crack Cocaine

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court August 19, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 39-year-old Peterborough woman wanted on warrants and in connection with several theft incidents was arrested Friday afternoon.

At approximately 3:00pm on July 11, 2025, officers were called to a report of a theft in progress at a business in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival to the area, officers located a woman matching the description given to police and took her into custody.  During a search after arrest, officers located the items that had been reported stolen and returned them to the store.  Through investigation it was learned that the woman was wanted in connection with three other thefts that happened in May 2025 at another local business. 

As a result, a 39-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 X4
  • Failure to comply with a Probation Order X4
  • Failure to comply with a Release order X2

The accused is currently bound by a probation order and a release order with several conditions including keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend the businesses where these new incidents happened.

The accuses was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on July 12, 2025.

 

Warrant Arrests

Between Friday, July 11, 2025 and Monday July 14, 2025, six people wanted on warrants were located and arrested by officers with the Peterborough Police Service.

Five of the six were held in custody and one was released on an appearance notice.
