Break and Enter Arrest

A 38-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a residential break and enter Sunday morning.

At approximately 11:35am on July 20, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Lansdowne Street West and Brealey Drive area about a break and enter in progress. Upon arrival, officers noticed a resident outside the home and a window screen to the basement that had been cut.  While waiting for a second police unit to arrive, the officer could hear a screen being ripped and saw a man with a knife attempting to exit the residence. The officer drew their firearm, and the man was taken into custody without incident. During a search of the man after arrest, officers found some jewellery, two knives and a hatchet.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Mischief Under $ 5,000
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by four probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, July 21, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 54-year-old Combermere woman is facing charges after an incident early Friday morning.

At approximately 1:00am on July 18, 2025, officers were called about a possible impaired driver who had left a residence in the north end of the city. The vehicle was located being driven in the Woodland Drive and Centre Line area. Officers conducted a traffic stop and noticed signs of impairment with the driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old Combermere woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused is currently bound by an undertaking with the following condition: to not attend the residence above.

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court July 18, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 26-year-old Roseneath man is facing impaired charges after an incident early Saturday morning. 

At approximately 2:50am on July 19, 2025, officers were made aware of a possible impaired driver in the area of Water Street and King Street.  An officer on general patrol spotted the vehicle travelling on Water Street in an erratic manner and conducted a traffic stop in the Water Street and Hunter Street area.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Roseneath man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container or liquor (Liquor Licence and Control Act)
  • Driving vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available (Cannabis Control Act) 

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court August 26, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 28-year-old Toronto man is facing several charges after an incident Saturday evening.

At approximately 11:20pm on July 19, 2025, officers were called by a passerby to a parking lot in the Hunter Street East and Burnham Street area about a man slumped over while on a motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver and learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Toronto and that the man was a prohibited driver. During a search after arrest, officers seized:

  • 83 – Hydromorphone Pills
  • 203 – Morphine Pills
  • 42 – Anti-Depressants
  • 22grams - Fentanyl

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs X3
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions: to not operate any vehicle not in your name.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 21-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after call came to police about a possible impaired driver.

The original call came in about 8:00pm on Sunday, July 20, 2025 about a group of males leaving a business in downtown Peterborough and driving off.  Officers searched the area however, were unable to locate the vehicle. 

At approximately 12:25am on Monday, July 21, 2025, an officer on patrol spotted the vehicle in the Park Street North and Dalhousie Street area and conducted a traffic stop.  During the interaction, the officer noticed signs of impairment with the driver. 

As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 2, 2025.

 

Flight from Police Arrest

A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing a number of charges after attempting to evade police.

At approximately 10:45am on Saturday, July 19, 2025, an officer on general patrol spotted a suspended driver on a motorcycle.  The officer attempted to make a traffic stop when the vehicle took off and ran two red lights.  The officer located the driver at their residence several hours later. 

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Flight from peace officer
  • Dangerous operation
  • Fail to stop for police (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Red light - fail to stop x2 (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court August 26, 2025.
