Warrant Arrest

A 35-year-old Peterborough man wanted on three warrants was taken into custody Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 1:20pm on June 14, 2025, an officer on bike patrol spotted the man in a park in the Rubidge Street and McDonnel Street area.  The man was wanted on warrants for failing to attend court, failing to comply with probation, and uttering threats. 

As a result, the 35-year-old Peterborough man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants.  He was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on June 15, 2025.

 

Warrant/Break and Enter Arrest

A 46-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant is facing new charges after an incident Sunday. 

At approximately 5:00am on June 15, 2025, officers were called about a break and enter in which the suspect took some items from the home and the homeowner’s vehicle. The man returned the vehicle several hours later and once again broke into the home. Officers returned to the scene and the suspect was taken into custody. Through the investigation, officers learned that the man was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with probation after an incident on June 2, 2025.

As a result, a 46-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Break, Enter dwelling house - commit indictable offence
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Failure to comply with undertaking x2
  • Theft Under $5000

The accused is currently bound by a probation order to stay away from the victim in these incidents. 

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on June 15, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing an impaired charge after an incident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 2:15am on June 14, 2025, an officer on general patrol in the area of George Street North and Sherbrooke Street when they noticed a vehicle stopped at a green light then continue at an extremely slow speed before it completed a U-turn on George Street and continued in the opposite direction. The vehicle then made a second U-turn at the intersection of George Street and Sherbrooke at which time it continued at the slow pace.  The officer conducted a traffic stop and in speaking with the driver noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court July 22, 2025.
