Impaired Arrest
A 20-year-old Westmeath, Ontario man is facing an impaired charge after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 1:20am on March 14, 2026, officers were called to a residence in the Avery Avenue and Louden Terrace area about several unwanted people. Upon arrival, officers learned that the unwanted people had left but that there was concern they were impaired. Officers located the vehicle matching the description given to police in the Chandler Cresent and Parkhill Road area and conducted a traffic stop. During conversation with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.
As a result, a 20-year-old Westmeath, Ontario man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court April 21, 2026.
RIDE Results
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service conducted a RIDE detail Saturday night into Sunday morning.
They attended three locations – one in Lakefield and two in Peterborough.
In all:
- 531 vehicles were stopped
- 19 Roadside tests were administered with all passing
