Robbery Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing a robbery charge after an incident Saturday morning.

At approximately 10:30am on March 22, 2025, officers were called to a business in the George Street North and Rink Street area.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a male customer had been asked to leave the store after a loss prevention officer (LPO) spotted him concealing items.  When the man left, he punched the LPO in the face and fled the area.  Officers located a man matching the description given to police several blocks away and took him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery with Violence

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 38-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Sunday morning.

At approximately 12:30am on March 23, 2025, officers were called to a business in the Chemong Road and Towerhill Road area after a report of a theft in progress.  Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect had left the store without purchasing the items and left in a pickup truck.  About an hour later, the vehicle was located in the Park Street and Wolfe Street area and woman matching the description given to police was taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough woman arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Failure to Comply with Probation

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. 

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 24, 2025.

 

Assault Arrest

A 23-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday evening.

At approximately 7:30pm on March 21, 2025, officers were called to a building about an unwanted man. Upon arrival, officers learned that the man was behaving erratically and yelling at others. During the arrest, the man resisted kicking one officer and scratching another.  As a result, one officer deployed their conducted energy weapon (CEW), and the man was taken into custody without further incident.  After arrest, the man verbally threatened an officer.   

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Allegation of Breach of Conditional Sentence Order
  • Assault a Peace Officer X2
  • Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm

The accused is currently bound by a conditional sentence order with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
