Fraud Awareness
Peterborough Police issuing a warning about a scam through Facebook.
Several recent online reports indicate that in each case the person was attempting to make a purchase and were asked to make a deposit of several hundred dollars, they sent the money to an email address and were given a fake address to pick up the item.
Peterborough Police remind residents to view the item in person if possible before exchanging any money and if you are arranging a pick-up or a drop off to consider a public place.
