Impaired Arrest

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after a collision in Peterborough.

At approximately 9:30pm on Friday, May 2, 2025, officers were called to the area of The Parkway and Lansdowne Street West about a collision in a parking lot. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the drivers and while speaking with one of them noticed signs of impairment.  No one was injured in the collision.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Careless driving (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 10, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with three shoplifting incidents in April.

At approximately 7:00pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025, officers with Community FIRST were on general patrol in the area of Reid Street and Simcoe Street when they spotted a man wanted in connection with two incidents and took the man into custody. While in custody it was determined the man was also wanted in connection with a third incident.

As a result of the investigations, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000 X3
  • Fail to comply with probation X3

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. 

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday morning.

At approximately 8:00am on Sunday, May 4, 2025, officers were called about a man in a business in The Parkway and Lansdowne Street area concealing items in his clothing.  Upon arrival, officers located a male in the store matching the description given to police and took him into custody. During a search of the man after arrest, items from the store were located and returned.  Officers also seized 4.4grams of Fentanyl.  It was further learned that the man was wanted in connection with a theft from the store in April.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 X2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2
  • Possession of schedule I substance – Fentanyl

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. 

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 3:00pm on May 4, 2025, officers were called to a parking lot in the Hunter Street West and George Street North parking lot about a person going through vehicles. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police, however, when the approached the man fled. Officers were able to catch up to him and after a brief struggle took him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. 

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 17, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 44-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 4:50pm on May 4, 2025, officers with Community FIRST were called to a theft in progress at a store in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers noticed a woman matching the description given to police leaving the store and took her into custody.  During a search after arrest, officers located and returned the items to the store.

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2

The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 10, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 32-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 6:25pm on May 4, 2025, officers on foot patrol were called to a business in the Hunter Street West and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a woman had entered the store picked up several items and left without paying.  Officers searched the area and located a woman matching the description given to police several blocks away. When they approached her, she fled before being taken into custody after brief foot chase.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 17, 2025. 

 

Theft Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:50pm on May 4, 2025, officers were called to a business in the Hunter Street West and Aylmer Street area.  Upon arrival, officers heard the fire alarm going off in the store and learned that a woman had entered the store and selected several items and when she attempted to leave the store was blocked by other customers and pulled the fire alarm.  Officers located the suspect in the store and took her into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • False alarm of fire 

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 17, 2025.
