Impaired Arrest

A 32-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a traffic stop Friday night.

At approximately 11:30pm on November 1, 2024, an officer on general patrol noticed a vehicle in the Stewart Street and Townsend Street area being driven extremely slow with no running lights and a brake light that was not working.  The officer conducted a traffic stop and noticed signs of impairment.  It was further learned that the driver was a suspended driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Brake lights - improper colour (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Drive without proper rear light - motor vehicle (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was given an automatic 90-day license suspension.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court December 17, 2024.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 59-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident early Sunday morning.

At approximately 12:30am on November 3, 2024, officers were made aware of a possible impaired driver in the Mount Pleasant Road and Best Road area.  An officer attended the area and located a vehicle matching the description given to police.  The officer conducted a traffic stop, during which signs of impairment and drug paraphernalia.  Three teenaged females were in the vehicle with the man.  During the investigation one of them fled into a field and was safely located by K9 Gryphon about 2 kilometres away.

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available (Cannabis Control Act)
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available (Liquor

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court December 17, 2024.
