A 34-year-old Peterborough man wanted on 5 separate warrants was arrested on Saturday by officers at a local business.

At approximately 8:30pm on Saturday October 4, 2025, officers were in the area Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road. Officers attended a local business and located the 34-year-old man, recognizing the male from previous incidents with police.  K9 Gryphon assisted in keeping the male from fleeing the business. Stolen property was recovered during the arrest.

As a result of the investigation, the 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the 5 warrants for fail to comply with probation x17, theft under $5000 x8, mischief under $5,000 and further charged with:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Fail to comply with probation x2

There is also an element of hate/bias connected to this incident.  These elements will be addressed during the court process.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on October 5, 2025.

Head of the Trent/Homecoming Weekend

The Peterborough Police Service thanks our partners Trent University, our first responder colleagues, Peterborough Fire and Peterborough Paramedics along with City of Peterborough Emergency Management, Transit and Board of Works for the coordinated response during Head of the Trent weekend.

While there were higher than normal volume of calls, there were no major incidents to report.

We hope everyone from students to Trent Alumni to Peterborough residents and to visitors had a positive experience in Peterborough this weekend. We thank you for enjoying and celebrating safely.  Thank you to the community for their patience during this large-scale event.
