Warrant Arrest

A 30-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with probation was arrested by officers on foot patrol Friday.

During a search after arrest, officers located and seized:

  • 20 Hydromorphone pills in a bottle not belonging the suspect
  • Fentanyl
  • Crack-cocaine
  • Black imitation pistol and ammunition

As a result, a 30-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Fentanyl
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Hydromorphone

The accused is currently bound by a prohibition order to not possession any ammunition and a probation order to not possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on September 12, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 31-year-old Bridgenorth man is facing impaired charges after an incident Friday evening.

At approximately 6:40pm on September 12, 2025, an officer on general patrol was flagged down after a minor rearend collision at the intersection of McDonnel Street and Reid Street.  While speaking with one of the drivers, the officer noticed signs of impairment. 

As a result, a 31-year-old Bridgenorth man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Follow too closely (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued a 90-day automatic license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 21, 2025.

 

Assault Arrest

A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday night.

At approximately 10:15pm on September 12, 2025, officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Wolfe Street and Rubidge Street.  Upon arrival, officers attempted to speak to a woman who had some facial injuries to check on her wellbeing when her partner intervened and took a swing at an officer and struck a voluntary auxiliary officer in the face.  The woman advised that there was no criminal complaint as she was in a consensual fight with another female.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Assault

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court October 21, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 19-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after a collision Friday night.

At approximately 10:30pm on September 12, 2025, officers were called to the intersection of Rubidge Street and King Street.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle had been travelling at a high rate of speed when it went up onto the curb and struck several street signs before coming to a stop. While speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment. 

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment. 

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 21, 2025.

 

Assault Arrest

A 16-year-old Peterborough male is facing charges after an incident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 12:05am on September 13, 2025, officers were called to a disturbance in the McDonnel Street and Aylmer Street North area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male and a female were seen arguing on a front lawn and when a bystander intervened the male pulled out a knife.  Officers located the male and the female as they had continued fighting and conducted a gunpoint arrest of the male given the information of the knife.  The male was taken into custody. 

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault – Spousal
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on September 13, 2025.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act the name of a young person cannot be released.

Break and Enter Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a break and enter incident.

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the George Street and King Street area about a break and enter that had happened overnight.  Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had entered the residence and taken a piggy bank, a picture frame and some puzzles from a child’s room while the child slept.  No one was injured.

Through investigation a suspect was identified.  At approximately 4:30pm that same day, officers on general patrol spotted the suspect in the area of Charlotte Street and George Street and took them into custody.

As a result, a 37-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on September 14, 2025.

 

Assault Suspect Sought

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are investigating after an incident Saturday night.

At approximately 11:20pm on September 13, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Park Street South and Romaine Street area.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a male victim had been stabbed in the abdomen during an altercation with another man known to him.  The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and then transferred to a Toronto-area hospital by ambulance for further treatment.  Officers and a K9 Unit searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect.  At this time the victim is not cooperating with investigators.

Stunt Driving

A 25-year-old driver is facing a stunt driving charge after a traffic stop Sunday morning.

At approximately 6:30am on September 14, 2025, officers on traffic enforcement on Lily Lake Road recorded a vehicle travelling 106km/hr in a 50km/hr zone. 

As a result, the driver was issued a stunt driving ticket, had their license suspended for 30 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days. 

 

Motor Vehicle Collision – Lakefield

A 39-year-old woman was issued two Highway Traffic Act tickets after a vehicle went through the front window of a business in Lakefield Sunday night.

The incident happened just after 9:00pm on September 14, 2025.

As the driver was unlicensed, the owner of the vehicle was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for:

  • Permit drive without license
  • Permit drive without insurance

No one was injured in the incident.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision – Water Street

A 38-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act after a single vehicle crash Sunday night.

At approximately 11:59pm on September 14, 2025, the Peterborough Police Service received several calls about a vehicle into pole in the Water Street and Nassau Mills Road area.  Upon arrival, officers located the female driver who was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. 

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough woman was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Careless Driving
  • Driving while under Criminal Code Suspension

 

Thefts from Vehicles - Millbrook

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are investigating a series of theft from vehicles in Millbrook.

Over a dozen incidents were reported to police Sunday evening from the Highlands Boulevard, Fernridge Heights and Northhill Avenue area.
