Weapons Arrest

A 38-year-old Douro man is facing several charges after a disturbance call was made to Peterborough Police on Saturday night.

At approximately 10:20pm on September 20, 2025, officers were called to the area of Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street about a man with a knife brandishing it toward another man.  Upon arrival, officers spotted a man matching the description given to police.  One officer drew their firearm as PC Wentworth and K9 Gryphon arrived, approached the suspect and took the man into custody.  During a search after arrest, officers seized:

  • Brass knuckles
  • Two knives
  • 6.9 grams – Crystal Methamphetamine

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Douro man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault With A Weapon
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • Possession Of Weapon For Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession Of A Prohibited Device Or Ammunition
  • Possession Of Weapon Contrary To Prohibition Order X4
  • Possession Of A Schedule I Substance

The accused is currently bound by four prohibition orders to not possess weapons or prohibited devices.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

 

Drugs/Possession of Weapons Arrest

Two Peterborough residents are facing charges after an off-duty officer spotted a person wanted on a warrant Friday afternoon.

At approximately 5:10pm on September 19, 2025, officers were called to a parking lot in the area Murray Street and Bethune Street about a suspicious vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers recognized the driver as a being wanted on a warrant for failing to stop for police and careless driving.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident.  A female passenger was also taken into custody.

During a search after arrest, officers seized:

  • 4.4 grams – Fentanyl
  • 36.9 grams – Cocaine
  • 17.6 grams – Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 4.2 grams – Crack Cocaine
  • A rifle
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Cell phones

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the warrant and further charged with:

  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

The accused is currently bound by a weapons prohibition order.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

A 28-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court October 28, 2025.

 

Warrant Arrest

A 32-year-old Peterborough man wanted on four warrants was arrested Friday by Community F.I.R.S.T officers.

At approximately 11:45am on September 19, 2025, officers were called to a property in the Armour Road and Hunter Street East area about an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers located a male amongst a lot of property including a shopping cart and a bike that had been reported stolen the night before.  Officers attempted to take the man into custody, but he did not comply with officer demands. One officer drew their conducted energy weapon (CEW) and conducted a dry stun to assist.  The man was taken into custody without further incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Peterborough was arrested on the strength of the warrants for use of credit card X10, possession of property obtained by crime X6, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, breach of probation X3, fail to comply with release order X2, fail to comply with probation, theft under $5000, break and enter, obstruct peace officer and further charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Breach of probation

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on September 20, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 24-year-old Omemee man is facing an impaired charge after an incident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 3:05am on September 20, 2025, staff at a business in the area of George Street and King Street called about a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description given to police driving away.  Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop.  Upon speaking with the driver, they noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Omemee man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 28, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 20-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after a single vehicle collision early Saturday morning. 

At approximately 5:00am on September 20, 2025, officers were called to the area of Parkhill Road and George Street after a vehicle struck a hydro pole and several garbage bins.  Officers located the driver of the vehicle behind a residence and in speaking with him noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment. 

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 28, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 48-year-old Douro-Dummer man is facing impaired charges after an officer on general patrol spotted a vehicle being driven erratically early Sunday morning.

At approximately 3:30am on September 21, 2025, an officer on general patrol in the Parkhill Road and Water Street area noticed a vehicle swerving on the road and in between lanes.  They conducted a traffic stop and noticed signs of impairment.  During a search of the vehicle after arrest officers seized:

  • 16.5ml – Methadone
  • 25.2 grams – Cocaine
  • Drug paraphernalia

As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old Douro-Dummer man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance- cocaine

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court November 4, 2025.
