Assault Arrest

A 29-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident a downtown business.

At approximately 3:30pm on April 2, 2025, officers were called to the business in the George Street and Murray Street about a disturbance.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a woman had entered the business, taken some items including from a customer and when asked to leave punched an employee before leaving.  Officers located a woman matching the description given to police across the street and took her into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 3, 2025.

 

Break and Enter Arrest

A 31-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident Wednesday evening.

At approximately 5:55pm on April 2, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Mark Street and Hunter Street area about a residential break and enter.  Upon arrival to the area, officers spotted a man matching the description given to police and took him into custody.  During a search after arrest officers located several tools commonly used for break and enters.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Possession Break In Instruments
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X4

The accused is currently bound by four probation orders each with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was also wanted on a warrant in another jurisdiction. He is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 3, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident at a Peterborough business Wednesday evening.

At approximately 7:15pm on April 2, 2025, officers were called to a business in the George Street North and Rink Street area after a report of a woman leaving a business without paying for items.  A short time later, officers located a woman matching the description given to police a few blocks away and taken into custody.  The items were recovered and returned to the store.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2

The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
