Assault Arrest

A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a series of incidents were reported. 

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, officers learned about the incidents involving a female victim and a male suspect who were known to each other.  During investigation officers learned that the female had been slapped and choked and then received unwanted communications.

As a result, a 30-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke x2
  • Assault
  • Criminal Harassment – repeatedly communicate

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, December 19, 2024.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this incident of intimate partner violence, the name of the accused is not being released. 

 

Warrant Arrest

A 36-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant was arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday evening.

At approximately 10:45pm on December 18, 2024, an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lakefield Road and 8th Line Smith.  Upon speaking with the driver, it was learned that there was a warrant out for his arrest after an indecent act was reported by a business on December 6, 2024.

As a result, a 36-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court January 28, 2025.
