Stunt Driving
A 17-year-old male driver is facing a stunt driving charge after an incident Wednesday morning.
At approximately 10:15am on December 3, 2025, an officer on general patrol in the area of Water Street and Carnegie Avenue clocked a vehicle going 122km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone.
The officer conducted a traffic stop, and the 17-year-old driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with:
- Stunt Driving
- Speeding
- Failure to surrender driver’s license
The driver was issued a 30-day license suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.
The driver is scheduled to appear in court February 23, 2026.
Fairbairn Street Collision
The Peterborough Police Service Traffic Unit is investigating after a vehicle went into a hydro pole Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:00pm on December 3, 2025, officers were notified that a car had struck a pole on Fairbairn Street and Highland Road. The driver was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
The road was closed while Hydro One repaired the pole.

Drug Offences Arrest
A 46-year-old Peterborough man is facing drug trafficking charges after an incident Wednesday morning.
At approximately 11:50am on December 3, 2025, officers on foot patrol in the area of Stewart Street Park (Stewart Street and Sherbrooke Street) noticed some suspicious activity and approached two men in the park. Upon speaking with the pair, officers learned one of the men was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with probation and taken into custody.
During a search after arrest, officers seized:
- 8 pill bottles with different names
- 219 Dilaudid pills
- Foldable knife
As a result, a 46-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Dilaudid)
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess any weapons.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, December 4, 2025.
The second man, a 49-year-old Peterborough man, was arrested under the Safer Public Spaces initiative, drugs were seized and after further investigation he was released unconditionally.
