Impaired Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident Wednesday morning.

At approximately 8:45am on February 25, 2026, a concerned resident called police about a vehicle that was in a snowbank in the area of Lily Lake Road and Dolman Street.  Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle, which was still running and the driver asleep inside.  Officers woke the driver up and further noticed signs of impairment.  He was taken into custody and during a search after arrest officers seized .4grams of cocaine.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
  • Driver fail to surrender licence (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Careless driving (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Fail to surrender insurance card (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court April 7, 2026.

 

Warrant Arrest

A 27-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant for robbery is facing a new charge after he was located by police early Thursday morning.

At approximately 3:00am on February 26, 2026, an officer on general patrol spotted a male on a bicycle with no light. He stopped the man and further learned the man was wanted in for robbery with violence after an incident at a Peterborough business on February 24, 2026.  The man was taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

The accused is currently bound by a release order with the following condition: to remain at your residence between 6:00pm and 6:00am.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 26, 2026.

 

Theft Arrest

A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with several theft incidents.

At approximately 11:45am on February 25, 2026, Community FIRST officers on general patrol the Lansdowne Street and Clonsilla Avenue area spotted a man wanted in connection with a theft earlier that day. Officers took the man into custody and located several items from another store on the man. Through investigation it was learned that the items had not been paid for.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000 X2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order X6

The accused is currently bound a probation order with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend the stores in which the items were taken from.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 26, 2026.
