Impaired Arrest

A 34-year-old Buckhorn man is facing charges after an single vehicle collision Wednesday morning.

At approximately 8:20am on March 5, 2025, officers were called about a vehicle into a snowbank in the area of Clonsilla Avenue and Ford Street. Upon arrival, officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver and took him into custody.  During a search of the vehicle after arrest, officers located a dog that was uninjured and also found open alcohol. 

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Buckhorn man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving Motor Vehicle With Unsealed container of Liquor (Ticket under Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 15, 2025.

 

Weapons Arrest

A 14-year-old Peterborough male is facing charges after an incident at Lansdowne Place Wednesday evening.

At approximately 7:30pm on March 5, 2025, officers responded to a call about a disturbance by a large group of teens in the mall. Upon arrival, officers learned that the group started to flee once security arrived.  During the incident, the security guards were verbally threatened and then had a hatchet brandished at them. Officers located a male matching the description given to police in a parking lot across street and took him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused is currently bound by an undertaking with the following condition: to not possess any weapons.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 14, 2025.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) the name of a young person cannot be released.

 

Unwanted Person Arrest

A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge after an incident early Thursday morning.

At approximately 1:30am on March 6, 2025, officers received a call about an unwanted man in a residence.  Upon arrival, officers learned that the other tenants in the home knew the man but he was not welcome and had let himself in.  Officers located the man and took him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Unlawfully in Dwelling House

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 15, 2025.
