Theft from Vehicle Suspect Sought
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service Street Crime Unit are searching for a suspect after a shotgun was taken from a vehicle.
At approximately 5:00am on Monday, April 28, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Weller Street and Wallis Drive area. Upon arrival, officers learned that the owner had been packing for a hunting trip and had been inside the house for a period of time. When they returned outside realized the truck had been rummaged through, and the firearm taken along with hunting gear.
The suspect is described to police as:
- Male
- Medium build
- Dark blue or black jacket with white underarms
- Black track pants with reflective striping at ankles
- Black shoes with white soles
- Brown or beige backpack
- Green toque
- Medical mask covering face
- Hoodie underneath jacket
The firearm is described as:
- 12 gauge Mossberg Turkey Thug pump-action shotgun
- Black
- Green cylindrical sight on barrel
- Some ammunition was also taken
It’s believed the suspect headed east and was later spotted in the Sherwood Crescent and Kensington Drive area.

Warrant Arrests
On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Peterborough Police Service arrested six individuals who were wanted on outstanding warrants. The warrants were for various offences including assault, theft under $5000, failing to appear and failing to comply with probation. The arrests and incidents were not related.
