Stolen Vehicle Arrest

Two men are facing charges after a stolen vehicle was located Wednesday night.

At approximately 8:00pm on November 12, 2025, officers on general patrol in the Lansdowne Street West and Dobbin Road area, were alerted by the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) to a vehicle that had been reported stolen from a rental company. The officers conducted a traffic stop and took two people into custody. 

As a result of the investigation:

The driver, a 60-year-old Township of Cavan-Monaghan man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused was released on an appearance notice and will appear in court December 23, 2025. 

The passenger, a 66-year-old Peterborough man, was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court December 23, 2025.

 

Warrant Arrest

A 42-year-old Peterborough woman wanted on a warrant is facing new charges after an incident Wednesday evening.

At approximately 9:00pm on November 12, 2025, officers on general patrol were alerted to a suspended driver through the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system.  They conducted a traffic stop in the High Street and Lansdowne Street West area.  Officers further learned that the while the driver was not the owner of the vehicle, she was also a suspended driver.  During a search after arrest officers also found a small amount of cocaine. 

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
  • Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court December 23, 2025.
