Stunt Driving/Impaired Arrest

A 20-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired and stunt driving charges after a traffic stop in Peterborough early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 2:17am on September 10, 2025, an officer conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Water Street and Mill Street spotted a vehicle going 90 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone.  The officer activated their emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop.  While speaking to the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment.

As a result, a 20-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - Excessive speed

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 21, 2025.

 

Stunt Driving Arrest

A 24-year-old driver is facing a stunt driving charge after a traffic stop in Lakefield Tuesday night.

At approximately 10:00pm on September 9, 2025, an officer was on general patrol in the area of Lakefield Road and Fraser Street.  A vehicle was recorded going 119 km/hr in a 50km/hr zone. The officer activated their emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop. 

As a result, the 24-year-old driver was issued a ticket for stunt driving and issued a 30-day license suspension and 14-day vehicle impoundment. 

 

Break and Enter Arrest

Two Peterborough men are facing charges in connection with an incident Tuesday evening.

At approximately 6:45pm on September 9, 2025, several calls were received about a break and enter in progress at a residence in the Armour Road and Dufferin Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that the two men had also damaged some property in the backyard of the residence. The suspects were located at the front of the residence. One was not compliant with officer demands and an officer drew and pointed their conducted energy weapon (CEW) at the man, and he was then taken into custody.  The second male also resisted arrest and was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

As result of the investigation:

A 29-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Mischief Under $ 5,000

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court September 10, 2025.

A 26-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Mischief Under $ 5,000 X2

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court, October 21, 2025.
