Drug Arrest
Two people are facing drug charges after an incident early Monday morning.
At approximately 6:45am on December 8, 2025, officers were called about a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival to the underground parking lot in the Sheridan Street and Hunter Street area, officers located a man and a woman in a vehicle. While there were no signs of impairment with the driver, officer did notice drug paraphernalia. During a search of the man after arrest, officers seized:
- 13.7grams of Fentanyl
- 3 Fentanyl tablets
- Cell phone
- Canadian currency
- Scale
As a result of the investigation:
A 56-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court, Monday, December 8, 2025.
A 24-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court January 20, 2026.
