Drug Arrest

A 45-year-old Pickering man is facing charges after a traffic stop Monday morning.

At approximately 8:45am on January 16, 2022, officers on general patrol in the Park Street South and Lansdowne Street West area conducted a traffic stop.  During the stop it was determined that the driver was a prohibited driver under the Criminal Code, and he was taken into custody.  Officers further searched the vehicle and located:

• Cocaine – 98.3 grams
• Fentanyl – 3 grams
• Drug paraphernalia
• Canadian Currency

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Pickering man was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada
• Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court February 1, 2023.
