Impaired Arrest
A 47-year-old Peterborough man is facing an impaired charge after an incident Monday night.
At approximately 11:55pm on January 19, 2026, an officer on general patrol in the Sherbrooke Street and Clonsilla Avenue area spotted a vehicle speeding despite the snowy conditions. The officer conducted a traffic stop in the Sherbrooke Street and Goodfellow Road area. During the stop, the officer noticed signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Entire plate not plainly visible (Highway Traffic Act) (Plate Cover)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court February 24, 2026.
