Sudden Death - Tuesday, March 3, 2026
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service were called to a sudden death late Tuesday morning in the area of Chemong Road and Towerhill Road. The death is not considered suspicious.
Motor Vehicle Collision – Impaired Arrest
A 49-year-old Peterborough woman is facing an impaired charge after a single vehicle collision Monday night.
At approximately 9:00pm on March 2, 2026, officers were called to the area of Lansdowne Street and Ford Street for a vehicle that had struck a pole and rolled. Upon arrival, officers saw that Peterborough Fire was extracting the woman and two dogs from the vehicle. In speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment. There were no injuries reported. The area was closed while officers investigated.
As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court, April 14, 2026.
Motor Vehicle Collision
A 77-year-old Peterborough driver was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre as a precaution after a single vehicle collision Monday night.
At approximately 8:30am on March 2, 2026, officers were called to the area of Monaghan Rd and Romaine Street about a vehicle that rolled over after taking a sharp turn and striking a snowbank.
The area was closed for a couple of hours.
Sudden Death - Monday, March 2, 2026
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service were called to a sudden death early Monday evening in the area of University Heights Boulevard and Water Street. The death is not considered suspicious.
