Assault Arrest
A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.
At approximately 6:30am on May 2, 2022, officers were called to a residence in the McDonnel Street and Stewart Street area about an altercation between a male and a female. Upon arrival, officers learned that a verbal argument had escalated, and that the female was physically assaulted and verbally threatened. Officers located a male at another residence and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault - Spousal
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, May 3, 2022.
In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
Assault Arrest
A 35-year-old Cavan-Monaghan Township man is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.
At approximately 9:30pm on May 2, 2022, officers were called to a home in the Cavan area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a verbal argument had been escalating. Officers also learned of a previous incident between the male and female on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in which the female was physically assaulted.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Cavan-Monaghan Township man was arrested and charged with assault – spousal.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 25, 2022.
In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
Theft- Catalytic Convertor
Peterborough Police are investigating after an online report of a theft from a Peterborough business.
The report filed on May 2, 2022, indicated that the catalytic convertor from a work van had been removed while the vehicle was parked at a business on The Queensway. It was noticed around 7:30am on Monday, May 2, 2022.
