Assault Arrest

A 15-year-old Peterborough male is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.

At approximately 8:30pm on May 30, 2022, police received several 9-1-1 calls about two people involved in a domestic dispute in the area of Monaghan Road and Hopkins Avenue.  Upon arriving in the area, officers located a male and a female and learned that the dispute had turned physical. 

Upon investigation, a 15-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault cause bodily harm - choke, suffocate or strangle

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 27, 2022.

Under the Youth Justice Criminal Code, the name of a young person cannot be released.

 

Threats Arrest

A 60-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.

At approximately 8:00pm on May 30, 2022, officers were called to a residence in the Hilliard Street and George Street area.  Upon arrival officers learned that a woman had been at the park with her children and thought another person had been videotaping them from a nearby residence.  The complainant approached the suspect and during the conversation was verbally threatened. 

As a result of the investigation, a 60-year-old Peterborough woman was charged with:

  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 21, 2022.
