Impaired Arrest

A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a singe motor vehicle collision early Tuesday morning.

At approximately 1:40am on September 16, 2025, the Peterborough Police Service received a couple of calls about a vehicle in the ditch in the area of Monaghan Road and Parkhill Road. Upon arrival, they located a vehicle with front end damage parked facing the wrong way on Monaghan. Upon speaking with the driving, officers noticed signs of impairment and learned the driver’s license had been cancelled.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle- no licence (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court October 28, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

An 18-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after a collision early Tuesday morning. 

At approximately 4:30am on September 16, 2025, the Peterborough Police Service received calls about a collision in the Hunter Street East and Driscoll Terrace area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle had struck a parked vehicle and flipped over.  In speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.  No one was injured in the collision.  Hunter Street was closed for about an hour while the cars were removed.  

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Novice Driver B.A.C Above zero (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Careless Driving (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Fail to Notify change of address – license (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 28, 2025.
