The Peterborough Police Service hosted a town hall on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Healthy Planet Arena Banquet Hall from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

Chief Stuart Betts presented on the 2024 budget. He talked about the increasing workload on the frontline and in investigations, recognized the hard work of officers, civilians, and volunteers, 9-1-1 volume (DYK 55% of 9-1-1 calls are requesting a police response?), the positive impact of the Mobile Crisis Intervention Teams, and being able to meet community expectations around safety.

The meeting was open to all members of the community.

Found Money

A large sum of money has been turned in to Peterborough Police and the Service would like to locate the owner.

The money was found in the downtown area on May 27, 2023, and turned over to police.  Attempts to locate the owner have not been successful.  The Service would like to be able to confirm and identify the rightful owner and return the money.

Anyone with information is asked to call Staff Sergeant Craig Ralph at 705-876-1122 x269.

Crime Stoppers

Crime Stoppers is a civilian, non profit, charitable organization that brings together the community, the police and the media in the fight against crime.

Crime Stoppers provides citizens with a vehicle to anonymously supply the police with information about a crime or potential crime of which they have knowledge. Cash rewards are offered to people who call the program and their information leads to an arrest.
