Traffic Stop Arrests
Two people were charged after a traffic stop Tuesday evening.
At approximately 5:30pm on March 31, 2026, officers on general patrol spotted a vehicle in the area Victoria Avenue and Reid Street. Officers noticed the passenger as having several warrants for her arrest on charges of robbery with violence, theft under $5000, fail to comply with probation X2, fail to comply with undertaking. They conducted a traffic stop and took her into custody. During a search after arrest, officers seized .9grams of Fentanyl.
As a result, a 24-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (Fentanyl)
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 1, 2026.
The 52-year-old driver of the vehicle was found to be a suspended driver and was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving while under suspension and the vehicle impounded for 45 days.
