Theft and Trespass by Night Arrest

A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident Tuesday evening.

At approximately 11:00pm on December 9, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Donegal Street and Parkhill Road West about a suspicious male in a backyard opening a back door to a residence before leaving the area. Upon arrival, officers were able to review video and develop a description of the man. They then followed a trail in the snow and learned that a wagon had been taken from a nearby residence. They continued to search the area locating a man matching the description in the area of Reid Street and McDonnel Street and took him into custody.

During a search after arrest officers found a number of items in the wagon including a circular saw, a chainsaw, a propane fire table, marijuana, and a portable speaker.  It is believed the items were taken from homes in the area of Downie Street, Donegal Street and Parkhill Road West.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
  • Trespassing at Night

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court January 20, 2026.
