Assault Arrest

A 27-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident of intimate partner violence.

At approximately 5:00pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, officers were called about a disturbance at residence in the Hunter Street East and Armour Road area.  Upon arrival officers learned that a verbal disagreement escalated, and the female victim received minor injuries when a tv remote was thrown at her face.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon - Spousal
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 26, 2025.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this case, the name of the accused is not being released.

 

Assault Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident of intimate partner violence.

At approximately 9:45am on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Parkhill Road and Leahy’s Lane area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a verbal dispute had escalated, and the female victim was choked and verbally threatened before the suspect left the residence.  The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.  Officers were able to locate a man matching the description given to police a short distance away and took him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court yesterday, Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this case, the name of the accused is not being released.
