Stunt Driving
A 31-year-old Fergus, Ontario man is facing a stunt driving charge after a traffic stop Tuesday morning.
At approximately 9:30am on March 3, 2026, officers on general patrol in the Water Street and Marina Boulevard area stopped a vehicle clocked at travelling 92km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone.
As a result, the 31-year-old driver was charged with stunt driving. Their driver’s license was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
Theft and Fail to Comply with Probation Arrest
A 38-year-old Peterborough woman is facing seven charges after an incident Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30pm on March 3, 2026, officers with Community F.I.R.S.T were called about a theft at a business in the Lansdowne Street and The Parkway area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a woman had entered the store, selected several items and left without paying. The store had an image of the woman and showed it to police.
At approximately 5:50pm, the Community F.I.R.S.T officers were in the area of Stewart Street and Simcoe Street when they spotted a woman matching the description of the woman in the photo from the business. When officers turned their vehicle around, the woman started running in between the houses and into a backyard. Officers were able to catch up to her and took her into custody. They also recovered the stolen items and returned them to the store.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Theft Under $5000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X6
The accused is currently bound by six different probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 4, 2026.
