Theft Arrest
A 43-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges after an incident at a Peterborough business Tuesday evening.
At approximately 7:00pm on May 27, 2025, officers were called to the Home Depot about a theft in progress. Upon arrival, they learned the suspect had attempted to leave the store without paying for items and was detained by the Loss Prevention Officer. Through investigation it was determined that the man was also wanted in connection with nine other incidents at the same store over the past six months.
As a result, a 43-year-old Lindsay man was arrested and charged with:
- Theft Under $5000 X10
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, May 28, 2025.
Assault Arrest
A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an intimate partner violence incident.
On Monday, May 26, 2025, officers were made aware of several incidents that had happened over the past week involving the victim and the suspect.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault - Spousal x2
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court x2
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x6
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not contact or communicate with the victim.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, May 28, 2025.
The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Weapons Arrest
A 28-year-old Peterborough woman is facing a charge after an incident involving a weapon early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 5:30am on May 27, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Herbert Street and St. Paul’s Street area after a call for service. Upon arrival, officers learned that it was believed a pellet gun was being used to shoot from the residence at a vehicle in a parking lot. They located the suspect in the residence and took them into custody. Officers seized an airsoft pellet rifle. No one was injured in the incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court, July 8, 2025.
