Youth Disturbance Arrest

A 12-year-old Peterborough male is facing several charges after a disturbance Tuesday evening.

At approximately 7:30pm on September 19, 2023, officers were called to the area of Braidwood and Park Street.  Upon arrival, officers learned that there had been a group of young people fighting and that when adults attempted to intervene one of the young people verbally threatened them and pulled out a knife before walking away from the area.  No one was injured.

As a result of the investigation, a 12-year-old Peterborough male arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in youth court October 23, 2023.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Code, the name of a young person cannot be released.

 

Stolen Vehicle Located

New in-car technology has helped officers locate a vehicle reported stolen earlier this month.

An officer was on general patrol in the Aylmer Street and Wolfe Street area when the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alerted the officer that a parked vehicle had been reported stolen. 

There was no one in the vehicle and the vehicle was seized.

Through investigation, officers were given descriptions of two people seen exiting the vehicle.

Suspect 1:

  • Male, white
  • 6’1’’
  • 190lbs
  • Black hair with beard
  • Wearing grey sweater and blue jeans.

Suspect 2:

  • Female, white,
  • 5’4’’
  • 100lbs
  • Long brunette hair
  • Wearing grey sweater and white shorts, carrying a black purse.

Threats Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge after an incident Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 2:15pm on September 19, 2023, officers were called to the area of George Street and Brock Street about a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had been threatening a female earlier in the day, while officers were there the suspect returned to the area yelling at the woman.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, September 20, 2023.

 

Assault/Warrant Arrest

Two people are facing charges after a domestic incident early Wednesday morning. 

At approximately 2:30am on September 20, 2023, officers were called to a residence in the Lily Lake Road and York Drive area.  Upon arrival, officers learned that an altercation had occurred between a male and female in which the male had been struck in the face.  It was further learned that there were several warrants out for the male.  The pair was located in different rooms of the residence.

As a result of the investigation,

A 20-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault – Spousal
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court October 10, 2023.

A 24-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court x2

The accused is currently bound by a release order with the following conditions to not communicate or be near the female in this case.

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, September 20, 2023.
