Break and Enter Arrest

A 40-year-old Peterborough man wanted on warrants is facing a new charge after officers were called to a break and enter in progress.

At approximately 3:50pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Aylmer Street and Sherbrooke Street area after the owner returned, noticed a door open and someone inside. Upon arrival, officers located a man on the second floor and took him into custody.  They further learned that the man was wanted on two warrants for failing to attend court X3, failing to comply with appearance notice, failing to comply with release order, break and enter a dwelling house – commit an indictable offence X2, fail to comply with probation.

As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, November 20, 2025.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision Update (Lansdowne Street and Webber Avenue August 2025)

An 83-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) in connection with a collision August 6, 2025, between a vehicle and a motorcycle.

A reconstruction of the collision at Lansdowne Street and Webber Avenue was completed and as a result, on Monday, November 17, 2025, the 83-year-old driver of the vehicle was charged with Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm (HTA).

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Toronto hospital for treatment.
