Weapons Arrest - Update
A third teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident Sunday evening.
On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, officers arrested the teen at his residence.
As a result of the investigation, the 16-year-old Peterborough male was charged with:
- Assault with A Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Failure to comply with undertaking

Fail to Remain – Vehicle Sought – Update
The Peterborough Police Service has located the vehicle being sought in this incident. Thank you to the public for their assistance in helping to locate the truck. The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to report a collision.

Fail to Remain – Vehicle Sought
The Peterborough Police Service Traffic Unit is looking for a vehicle that failed to remain after striking a hyrdo pole.
The collision happened around 8:10am on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, on Water Street in the southbound lanes near Marina Boulevard. The collision caused extensive damage to the hydro pole.

Homicide Investigation Update - Arrest
An arrest has been made in the homicide of Jacob Jansen, a 27-year-old Peterborough man.
On Monday, August 14, 2023, at approximately 10:45am, officers from the Investigative Services Division arrested 32-year-old William Weir of Peterborough.
Weir has been charged with:
- First Degree Murder
