Summer Foot Patrol Begins
With the end of school, Peterborough Police Service has redeployed the officers in the Community Services Unit to conduct foot patrols in the city, mainly through the downtown core.
The initiative is part of proactive policing measures to meet with community members, local businesses, and visitors to our city. If you see any of the officers in addition to our bike patrol, please stop and say hi or have a chat.

Update #2 on Homicide July 2, 2022
Peterborough Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend.
Police responded to the area of Park Street North and Sherbrooke Street just after 2:00pm on Saturday, July 2, 2022 after receiving a 9-1-1 call.
Despite life saving measures by civilians, officers, EMS and medical professionals, 37-year-old Shawn Singh of Peterborough succumbed to injuries suffered in the shooting.

Weapons Arrest
A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge after an incident early Friday morning.
Just before 6:00am on July 1, 2022, officers were called to the area of Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road about a man waving a weapon around. Aggravated Assault Arrest
A 14-year-old Lakehurst male is facing charges after an incident in Peterborough Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30pm on June 30, 2022, officers were called to the area of the trail near George Street North and Dalhousie Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old victim suffering from stab wounds after an altercation between the suspect and a group of people.
