Theft under $5,000 Arrest:

A 22-year-old female (porch pirate) has been arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 following an investigation.

Sometime between 10:50 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on September 3, 2020 the accused attended the front porch of a Bethune Street residence and looked through boxes of fresh food and frozen food that had just been delivered.  The accused then stole items from the box.

Robbery Arrest:

A 31-year-old Oshawa man has been arrested and charged with robbery and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose following an investigation.

On September 18, 2020 at approximately 6:30 p.m. two people were walking in a plaza parking lot near the Parkway and Lansdowne Street when they were approached by the accused.  The accused asked the victims if they had any money they could spare.  When they told the accused they had no money, the male brandished a knife.

On September 20, 2020 at 3:24 am Peterborough Fire Services and Peterborough Police responded to a structure fire at an apartment complex located at 369 Hunter Street West.

Arrest On Canada Wide Warrant:

In February of 2017 Peterborough Police received a complaint regarding a sexual assault. As a result of the investigation on August 18, 2020 a Canada Wide Warrant was issued for Shayne Ruddy, age 23 of Cold Lake Alberta for sexual assault and obstruct peace officer.
