Drug Investigation Arrest

A 29-year-old Peterborough woman is facing several charges after a drug investigation. 

On March 30, 2023, officers with the Peterborough Police Services Drug Unit arrested a woman in the Goodfellow Road and Talwood Drive area.  Upon searching the suspect officers located a loaded handgun in a backpack. 

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

Body Found

Peterborough Police were called Thursday morning after the body of a 46-year-old man was found in the Otonabee River. 

At approximately 8:15am March 30, 2023, officers were called to the area of the CP Rail Bridge and pedestrian walkway. 

The Coroner is now investigating with the assistance of the Peterborough Police Service. 

The area was closed to pedestrian traffic for about an hour.

A 37-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Wednesday morning.

A 32-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident at a local business Tuesday evening.

Fraud Prevention Month – Cryptocurrency Scams

Peterborough Police continue to receive calls and reports about frauds in our community. 

Recently, officers were made aware of a bitcoin scam where the fraudster asked the victim to make a payment with bitcoin.  The victim had sent several thousand dollars before realizing it was a scam.     

Be aware cryptocurrency scams are becoming a more common fraudster tool.
