Impaired Arrest

A 66-year-old Lakefield man is facing an impaired charge after an incident Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 3:30pm on May 13, 2025, officers were called to a minor two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Bridge Street and Clementi Street in Lakefield. Upon arrival, officers spoke to one of the drivers and noticed signs of impairment.

Theft Arrest

A 36-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident in early April.

At approximately 3:30pm on Monday, May 12, 2025, officers on general patrol spotted a woman wanted in connection with a theft incident at a local business walking in the area of Aylmer Street and King Street.  Officers took the woman into custody without incident.

Fraud/Scams Circulating

The Peterborough Police Service is issuing a warning after several reports of scams involving people claiming to be from government agencies.

In one, the person claimed to be from the Department of Justice and in another the scammer claimed to be from Immigration and Border Services.   In each case, the scammer said there was a complaint against the victim or that someone was using their identity, and they would need to pay money to rectify it.
