Suspicious Death Investigation Update #2
A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing another charge in connection with a suspicious death.
As a result of further investigation, the accused has been charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
The accused has also been charged with Indignity to Dead Body.
The accused is being held in custody and appeared in court today.
The victim, a 33-year-old Peterborough woman was found deceased in an apartment on Charlotte Street on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Human Trafficking Arrests
Detectives with the Peterborough Police Service Human Trafficking Unit have made two arrests in connection with a five-month investigation.
During the investigation, officers learned that the female victim had been befriended by the accused woman and forced into sex work, assaulted and held for a period of time in another city before she was able to escape.

Criminal Harassment Arrest
A 14-year-old Peterborough male is facing a charge of criminal harassment after an incident.
On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, officers responded to a call for service about a neighbour dispute. Upon arrival, they learned that over the past few days a male had been yelling racial slurs at the victims.
