CCTV Camera Program is now up and running in Peterborough.

The Peterborough Police Service CCTV Camera Program is now up and running in the downtown core of the City of Peterborough. 

12 cameras have been posted along with signage notifying residents and visitors to our community that they are entering an area that may be monitored by CCTV cameras.

Assault Arrest

A 48-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a domestic incident late Thursday afternoon.

Just before 6pm on July 27, 2023, an officer observed a domestic occurrence in the area of Dalhousie Street and Aylmer Street. The officer observed a man screaming at a woman and then striking the woman with his hand. The victim received minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

Motor Vehicle Collision Police Cruiser

On the 27th of July, just after midnight, an officer was operating a police cruiser in the area of Charlotte Street and Rubidge Street. Once the cruiser entered the intersection, the cruiser was struck, causing the cruiser to spin and come into contact with a nearby pole. The collision was captured on the in-car camera.

Crime Stoppers provides citizens with a vehicle to anonymously supply the police with information about a crime or potential crime of which they have knowledge. Cash rewards are offered to people who call the program and their information leads to an arrest.
