Fire - Update
The fire that claimed the life of a 27-year-old Peterborough man early Wednesday morning has been determined - not suspicious. Peterborough Police Service has turned the scene over to the Ontario Fire Marshal.

The Peterborough Police Service and Ontario Fire Marshal are investigating after a fatal fire in Peterborough early Wednesday morning.

Ongoing Investigation – Update
The investigation into a firearm that was discharged inside a west end residence on December 31,2025 continues to be actively investigated. The Peterborough Police Service Professional Standards Unit and Senior Investigators are assigned the matter and have engaged an independent third party to examine the firearm.
