Pedestrian Safety Campaign Launched

The Peterborough Police Service, Peterborough Public Health, the City of Peterborough and Peterborough County are joining forces to highlight pedestrian safety and encouraging everyone to #walksafe.   

Whether you are traveling on a city street or using a rural roadway, the safety of all road users should be front and center. Over the coming weeks, essential safety tips will be released through our organizations.

Luring Arrest

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an investigation after an exchange of inappropriate messages was brought forward.

On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, officers with the Internet Child Exploitation Unit went to the suspect’s residence and took him into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Luring a Person Under 18 X2
  • Possession of Child...

Mischief Arrest

A 35-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 5:45pm on March 2, 2025, officers were called to a restaurant in the area of Brock Street and George Street about a break and enter in progress.  Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police at the back of the building...

Prohibited Driver Arrest

A 26-year-old Ajax man is facing a charge after an incident Thursday.

At approximately 11:45am on February 27, 2025, officers on patrol spotted a vehicle believed to be driven by a prohibited driver.  When the vehicle parked in a parking lot near Chemong Road and Lindsay Road, officers were able to take the driver into custody without incident.

As a result, a 26-year-old Ajax man was arrested and charged with:
