Fraud Scam Investigation
The Peterborough Police Service would like to make the public aware of a new scam.
Officers are investigating after several similar reports were filed in the last week where local residents in their 70s and 80s were contacted over their landline with the caller ID showing a financial institution. Assault Arrest
A 32-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges in connection with several intimate partner violence incidents.
On October 29, 2024, officers were made aware of two incidents over the past several days. Verbal arguments escalated, and the male victim was punched and a hot frying pan thrown at him. He was also scratched and prevented from leaving a room during one of the incidents.

Impaired Arrest
A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing an impaired charge after an incident with an e-bike Monday night.
At approximately 7:20pm on October 28, 2024, officers were made aware that an e-bike had been driven into a guardrail in the Murray Street and Stewart Street area. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver, noticed the e-bike was not in pedal mode and noticed signs of impairment.

Investigation
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after two officers on general foot patrol in the area of the trail between Monaghan Road and Romaine Street heard what they thought to be a gunshot.
The incident happened about 1:20pm on Monday, October 28, 2024.
